Jumping on the Tallow Bandwagon - Wild Posie

I often say my love for natural skincare started long before I realised it. I was raised by a mum who believed in blending the best of both Western and Eastern medicine. Growing up, I saw the benefits of modern medicine, and during my nursing career I witnessed incredible moments that reminded me how powerful it can be. But I have always believed that true wellness also comes from prevention, nourishment, and the healing gifts found in nature.

My journey into natural skincare began when my eldest son developed eczema as a baby. We eventually discovered that dairy and wheat were triggers, and almost twenty years ago those allergies were much harder to manage than they are today. Doctors prescribed creams with strict instructions and warnings, and I often worried about what I was putting on his sensitive skin. Once those creams reached their limit, I was left searching for something gentle but effective.

One weekend at a local market, I came across a small bottle of organic rosehip oil. I began applying it directly to his irritated skin and followed with a natural body moisturiser every night. A family friend later introduced me to avocado and coconut oils, which we used after bath time. Between these simple remedies and major changes to his diet (including a long phase of homemade chicken nuggets and chips five nights a week), his skin slowly began to heal.

That was the moment everything changed for me. I saw how powerful natural ingredients could be, and I started making small swaps in our home. Now our cupboards are filled with natural cleaning products, laundry essentials, and skincare that is safe, nourishing, and effective. I use the Yuka app to check products, but there is something deeply rewarding about making my own.

Every balm I create today is made with purpose and care. Each ingredient is one I have personally researched, tested, and truly love. My products are luxurious enough for any beauty routine, yet gentle enough for a newborn baby. That balance of purity and performance is what I strive for in everything I make.
